Halloween 2012. - Done-!

Anna was a Zombie bride for the Halloween party last night.  We wanted to make some crazy hair on her so we tried out a Pinterest trick.  First we twisted her hair and scrunched foil around it.  Then we used the flat iron on each of the little foil things.
Ta-Da!
Crazy hair on a crazy girl!  This was so funny for us because Anna has the straightest hair ever.
She looks like she could be from the 1980's with hair like that.

The kids had originally planed to do a haunted forest.  Unfortunately it rained all day long.  Imagine that in Northern Washington.  So the kids along with some of their friends and Troy made up the shop.
Lot's of fake blood, spaghetti, and fake body parts.

This poor unfortunate person didnt' stand a chance.  They all had a great time.  It turned out really corny, but so much fun.  Once the lights were out, all the candles lit and the kids in place, it  was scary.
I wish I would of taken more pictures of all the kids in the costumes.  It go really crazy after this picture and I didn't stop until I fell into bed.
What do you call a bunch of 6th graders.
Gaggle?
Hoard?
Hurricane?
Earthquake?
I guess there was an earthquake last night, but I would of never known.  There was so many kids running in and out of the house last night, it felt like earthquake!

This was my sorry attempt at eyeballs in the tree.  I asked Troy to hang them up in a tree.  This is what I found when I came back from picking up kids.  He said it needed a smile.
Good use of a life jacket Honey!

Yes, my kids are demented.
All the boys loved all the guts and blood.
I just kept thinking about all the lovely things about fall!
I'm not a fan of all the gory Halloween stuff.  I like the fluttering leaves, crisp air, bright pumpkins, apples.
I really stepped out of my box last night and let my kids have a good safe night of fun.  The kids have some wonderful friends that they were able to share this night with.  It was worth it!
I'm already planning a bloodless Christmas party!

Lookin' funny and a little bird watching.

I guess I could say, looking funny while bird watching?

I'm posting these pictures of Troy and myself to give everyone a good laugh.  Soren was taking these pictures.  Troy was hiking up his pants and I am wearing......who knows what.
I do know that I wasn't feeling well and decided to get out and get some fresh air.  Soren kept telling us to kiss.  Look at how far apart Troy and I are.  What are weekends for anyway?
Miss matched clothes?

I dragged along Troy and Soren for a walk in the woods so I could take pictures of leaves, moss, mushrooms.

There's still apples on the trees.

Izzie girl was hanging out with us.  She was interested in the noise up in the sky.  There was hundreds of crows landing in the cornfield behind our house.  All those crows squawking all at the same time.
Just a little bit freaky.

As I was waiting for the kids to get off the bus today I noticed how many apples are on the ground.  It's fun to see the nibbles that the deer take from them.  The kids got home and brought along some friends with them.  I handed over Izzie to them and took off down the road because I had spotted a crane.  At least I think it was.
Down the road I went.  It still amazes me how much moss grows here.  This is the side of the street.

My next pictures are all messed up.  I didn't have the patience to fix the order.  Couldn't find the bird so I started to walk back home.  Spotted it down by the pond, so I took off across the field.  I got pretty close before it took off.  They make a lot of noise too.

This is looking up towards the house from the pond.
Turning around, this is the farm across the pond and stream. We've gotten to know the family that lives there.  It's nice to have friends so close.
That was sarcasm.
Close.
Any who.... that's their milk cow, Bessie.
Don't love their smell, but I love to hear them moo.

Looking down, I see rain water gathering in fallen leaves.  Everything is wet right now.  The earth is so bouncy and spongy from the moisture.
Turning a little bit more and this is another view.  Loving all the color's right now.
Here is the picture of the crane.

I would've gotten closer, but Izzie came running up behind me and scared the bird away.
Never take a dog bird watching.

Feeding the fish.

The family went for a walk down to the pond today to give the fish some food. here.  We all needed a break from the house, so off we went for some nice crisp fall air!  Poppy even followed us down.

Can you see were the deer have made a path down to the pond?

Anna and Ella were trying to be taller than each other.

I handed the camera over to Logan.  It makes me sad that I don't have many pictures of Troy and I together.  If we do have pictures together, it's usually of him teasing me.  I didn't post the pictures of him making funny faces.

Isn't that the sweetest thing ever?  Olivia loves her Daddy.  She's turning out to be a prankster just like him.
It was lovely to get outside while we had a break in the rain.
Some time to enjoy the fresh air.
A moment to take in the color's all around us.
Actually is was nice to get the kids outside and run off some energy!

Fluttering.

I know I have been posting a lot of pictures of leaves, berries, birds, all that boring stuff.  It's hard for me to put into words how I feel about Fall.
I feel the earth getting ready to go to sleep, laying a blanket of giant leaves on the ground.
On my walk today, I found more berries.  They are so sweet and good.
All the apples are falling from the trees, giving the deer a nice little treat.
As I was waiting for the kids to get off the bus, I spotted this guy.  Don't know what it is but he sure
does look rough.

Every day the colors change.  Something new for me to look at and enjoy.  I found a poem and put the words "Fluttering Leaves" on a chalk board to decorate the family room.  Everybody found that really funny and have teased me relentlessly about it.
"Oh look Emily, fluttering leaves."

I should of written the whole poem down.
'Fall, leaves, fall'
Fall, leaves, fall; die, flowers, away;

Lengthen night and shorten day;

Every leaf speaks bliss to me

Fluttering from the autumn tree.

I shall smile when wreaths of snow

Blossom where the rose should grow;

I shall sing when night's decay

Ushers in a drearier day.

-Emily Bronte

This is what I get to look forward to winter for.  Holly!
Need to find a good poem!
